Abstract
Filipino Theology, as a Filipinization movement, has been around for more than five decades since 1970s, when theological works that consciously sought to explore the Filipinoness of theology as a discipline began to emerge. Despite this, up to the present, there has yet to be any typology that attempts to systematize the existing literature in the field. This study aims to propose a typology to address this gap. To this end, F.P.A Demeterio’s typology in Filipino Philosophy will be utilized as a model, along with Atoy Navarro’s structure of subfields within Bagong Kasaysayan. Using these two models, the researcher developed a typology consisting of four main areas: 1. Typology based on Language (inspired by Zeus Salazar’s categories of pangkami, pangkayo, pansila, and pantayo), 2. Typology based on Method (derived from Jose de Mesa’s distinction between social and cultural approaches to theology), 3. Typology based on Geographical Space (informed by Salazar’s division within philosophy of history), and 4. Theology based on Exposition (drawn from the researcher’s own conceptualization of Araling Kapantasan). © 2025 Santos, M.J.P. | ISSN: 2012-2144 (Print) | ISSN: 2546-0757(Online) [I]
